Kuching Part I : AirAsia

First of all I would like to thank AirAsia for the wonderful and safe flight across the South China Sea, and also for their delightful choices of cabin F&B =)




So does food really taste better thousands of meters up in the air?











As you can see.. Not bad the choices available and at an affortable price. Do note that some food items are 10% cheaper if ordered when booking tickets online.

On the return flight I was really up for Pak Nessar's Nasi Lemak Ayam.. To my dismay, by time the food cart reached me, it was all gone :( So I settled for 1901's Snack Attack (RM 7).



Frankly speaking, my brain just shut off when I opened it..I'm too clumsy to be doing this.. So I passed it to Pearl to handle it :p







And wallaa!! Meat, relish, mayo, chilli sauce, pepper and salad.. Complete and wholesome meal =)

I apologize to all my readers who have been waiting patiently for me to update my blog as I was away on vacation in Kuching from May 17-22. But.. But.. But.. This land I proclaim now as the "Pork Capital of Malaysia!". So I shall be blogging on the sights, sounds, and smells of Kuching very soon.. ;-)

Toast Box, belonging to Singapore-based BreadTalk Group is your kampung-kopitiam styled coffee house much like Old Town White Coffee, the more renowned coffee house franchise here in Malaysia.




I've visited its outlet in Food Republic at Pavilion, Bukit Bintang about 4 times in the last month already.


Nearly everything on the menu is tempting to try, what more with does delicious-looking pictures =)

Everyone knows a good cup of coffee has to have condensed milk sweetener and evaporated milk. So the secret of a great cup of coffee lies in the beans used.








I'm no coffee expert, but I would say their coffee is as good as Old Town's white coffee. 2 cups of this and you'll be high ;)

Now comes the breads..



French Toast With Peanut Butter, sinfully fried in deep oil and a rich peanut butter scoop for a dipping, gorgeous..







Thick Kaya Toast, crispy, light, and delightful layer of butter in between..








Soft Kaya Toast, fluffy and cute in the palms of your hands..

BBQ Chicken Rice @ Kajang (Closed)

I've eaten about every chicken rice shop in Kajang, and the one that stands out above the rest, by a small margin that be, is located along the back alley near MAA Bank next to the beautiful murky river of Kajang :p

Like your typical chicken shop, the choice of barbecued lean pork, crispy roasted pork belly, roasted chicken, Hainan chicken, and roasted duck is at your finger tips. The shop allows the mixture of meat on your plate. So mixing and matching your meats is as fun as eating them =)


Barbecued lean pork with crispy roasted pork belly sprinkled with a bit of fried garlic. Tender and juicy. Forget the fattening part ;)



Hainan chicken with light sesame sauce is a healthier option compared to its roasted cousin. The portions of meat here are generous and boneless.


Given the choice, I would have all 5 choices of meat at one go, but I'm trying to loose weight. So maybe another time :p




What better dessert than the choice of ABC or cendol. The stall next to the chicken rice serves these cold delights at more than affordable prices. To wrap things up, the shopkeepers there are very friendly and serves you with a smile.
