Paddington House of Pancakes @ Gardens

When I first heard of Paddington man did I drool over it. The images of thick pancakes with melting butter and maple syrup.. Mmm.. Sinful.. But who cares aite..

SS and I decided to pay a visit to the new Gardens' outlet for our tea time after a day of shopping at Midvalley. I also managed to locate a winery in Garden's which sells a rare Jacob's Creek Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 Red Wine for RM 76. I'm going to buy that one day and age it! =)

I liked the interior designing of the place. Wooden furnishing with mirrors on the sides, slim chandeliers with a nice yellow ambiance to balance the area out. There we even sofas for those wanting the extra soft touch.

Paddington has by far the thickest menu I have seen in my life. It took us 20 minutes going through it 2 times as there were so many items to choose from. Initially I assumed Paddington focused more on pancake varities. But that was not the case. Surprisingly, most of its dishes are far from the classical pancake. Dishes ranged from salads, pies, lasagnas, and pastas to pancake burgers, steaks and a lot of other meat-infused dishes. Even the pancakes had different sizes, from the minis to the dollars to the stacks and not forgetting the outrages toppings . Theres so many choices even I can't remember them all.

For drinks SS had the Hot Chocolate with Marshmallows and I had Venice Coffee with Whipped Cream.

I knew what I was going to order even before entering the place. Classic pancakes! Genuine and original.. Nothing more, nothing less.. So I ordered the Classic Pancake Stack with Maple Syrup. The other option would be Honey Syrup.

Doesn't that look gorgeous.. A stack of 3 pancakes, served with butter, strawberry jam and maple syrup. I should have added on another stack to this as they allow the addition of another stack for a lower price.

Look at that.. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The only downside to this is the pancake has to be eaten hot to be enjoyed. Thus the chilling air-conditioning inside doesn't really help in that aspect.

Okay, I can't remember the name of the dish SS ordered as it was downright complicated :p But as you can see, it comprises of a long lean grilled chicken sausage served with a few other ingredients and abundance of cheese on a thin flat crispy creep.

Overall I give Paddington House of Pancakes a thumbs up for its variety and tasty pancakes. Prices aren't too expensive if you go for their pancake selections and the ingredients used are fresh and rich in flavor. Now if only someone could reduce the temperature in there...

Wendy's @ Sunway Pyramid

I must apologize again for the slow update. My recent chaotic and upside down lifestyle has taken a toll on my inspiration to blog at my best. So I shall complete my backlogs first before blogging about anything recent. So, we'll start with Wendy's.

Had a free weekend. So SS wanted to teach the "ullu boy" rubinho ice skating at Sunway Pyramid. I can tell you now I can't skate for nuts. It was so painful on my ankles. But falling down was fun contrary to what people think as embarrassing =)

Well, as you can see on the ice... Wendy's... Frankly speaking I've been dying to try out Wendy's for months now. Stories of its value for money and tasty burgers coupled with its famous hot chili and baked potato made me drool...

So we were killing 2 birds with one stone... Ice skating and Wendy's...

This is the pit-stop for this leg of the race. Last team to check in may be eliminated

It was the Ramadan month, so every eatery was full of non-Malays. Time to order! Since I could not eat beef, beef patties and the hot chili were out of my reach. Bummer!! So we settled for 2 Chicken Sandwiches and 1 Baked Potato with Cheese & Broccoli.

God did the Chicken Sandwhich (RM7) turn out to be a disappointment. The burger tasted exactly like KFC's Zinger. It even smelled identical to it. An uneven and rather small fillet of chicken was a reminder of the current trend in fast food chains where they do not deliver on what they advertise.

I was hoping the Baked Potato with Cheese & Broccoli (RM5.90) would redeem Wendy's name. After all, its their best seller. I had to wait another 10 minutes to get my hands on these as they were sold out. Unfortunately, even the potato fell short of my expectation. Lacking taste both in the potato and the broccoli, the cheese used wasn't satisfying either.

Being a fast food chain and having new outlets currently opening in major malls around Klang Valley, customers will continue flocking to Wendy's. But thats the only thing the little red haired girl has to smile about. Because Wendy's failed rubinho's tastebuds! Save your money and have more satisfying burgers at Burger King, Chili's or Carl's Junior =)
